Well let's make that a stressed out lazy bum! I haven't been blogging much because I haven't been doing much that is worth writing about. Two weeks ago I was so stressed out with finding a house to rent, trying to get a bunch of stuff done around the house, and trying not to go insane living with Ivan. But I accomplished absolutely nothing. To top it all off my wonderful husband has also been equally stressed and a stressed out family does not make a happy one. I actually had to and a conversation on the phone one night with, "I really don't want to argue on the phone. I love you and will see you soon." I was about to get really out of hand over something that was so not worth it! He came home that weekend we both acknowledged how stressed out we are about the move and trying to get everything done all while he is living in another state, and everything was fine.
Last week I did my best to not let the destructive tornado that is Ivan get me too worked up, which isn't easy. He discovered the treats on top of the fridge and proceeded to knock down a new packet everyday and destroy the packaging. Now we don't have anymore cat treats. (I know that he doesn't understand that he is punished, but he is.) Now with all of the banging around the kitchen that takes place at midnight and 6am most days, I just kind of roll with it. Even when a pot got knocked off the fridge one night scaring the you-know-what out of me, I just stayed in bed and went to sleep. However the next morning with me started sliding the noisy lid around the kitchen I had to get up around 5:30 to shove it in the pantry so that he couldn't get to it.
Then this weekend I spent all afternoon both Saturday and Sunday hanging out with my sister and her kids. I'm sure she'd think I was crazy, but it was actually quite a stress reliever to get out of my house with the bickering cats and play with her children.
My husband can't figure it out. The last weekend he was in he asked me, "How is it that you have no problem handling kids but can't put up with two small cats?" I think the answer to that is that the kids can learn, but Ivan clearly cannot. Plus their smiles and the funny things that then come up with and say far surpass a headbutt.
And to make the weekend even better! I was on call but didn't get called in once! YAY!
This cutie decided that a sticker off of a plunger made a great eye patch and with it he proclaimed, "I da PIRATE!" Too precious! And with E I can rarely get a picture where he is both centered and in focus because the little man is always on the move!
His smile is so much cuter in this one but it's so darn blurry! And yes he has Darth Vader on his shirt.
Sometimes we have to make time for what's important and it's not always throwing stuff in a box, washing clothes, cleaning house, or even playing with the cats. On occasion I have to just leave Ivan to his own devices and spend time with some smallish people that soon I won't get to see as often. Breaks my heart a little.
Sometimes the most exciting news is not so exciting. But right now we are down to one tank of fish! And that's a big deal people! We had (and will likely have again in the future) 3 tanks of fish. One tank (the picture above) had fresh water fish, and two of saltwater fish. Don't get me wrong they are very pretty most of the time, but they are a pain to maintain. So right now I am pretty trilled to have a little less to care for while my hubby is away!
